Let's Hear it For the Boys

OK, so it has been a while since I have posted anything, but this week over at I Heart Faces, it is "Let's Hear it for the Boys" week. I had to post this one. My son is all boy. We have little lizards at our house called skinks. They are very cute when they are outside the house. Inside is another story. My son loves to catch them. Usually they immediately drop their tail, but not always. This one is only missing the tip of its tail. On this day my son caught this little fellow and carried him around forever. Of course I had to take their picture together. I think they make a cute pair.

Over My Head

This week at I Heart Faces the theme is "Over My Head". I wasn't sure I was going to enter this week, but as usual the theme got me thinking. Today we went to the zoo. A new exhibit there allows you to feed birds with seed on a stick. The kids loved it and I did to. The birds are just beautiful. My daughter was amazed when these stopped buy her stick for a bite to eat.

Yellow

Survivor Babylon

When you think children's musical, you might have images of 3 or 4 kids dressed up for a nativity play. Or tons of missed lines and fearful participants. Well, last night, my kids and about 80 others participated in our children's choir's spring musical. It was a very professional production with only one missed line and no missed cues. These kids were brilliant and they pulled it off in just 15 weeks of meeting only on Wednesday night. The musical was called Survivor Babylon (the story of Shadrach, Meshac and Abednago) and was a spin off of the TV show Survivor. The only rule in this "game", though, was that everyone must bow to the King's new golden statue. If you don't you'll be done, and I do mean "well done". The King fancies himself a hip hop rapper, but that is questionable. In fact, the King was played by our very own pastor. He's a great guy with a heart for the kids. He must have to show up wearing gold pants to a sanctuary filled to the brim with people. Everyone did an awesome job and they all had a good time. Oh, and yes, Jesus showed up in the fire to save the Hebrew children. He always does. He either saves us from the fire (my personal favorite), through the fire (Hebrew children) or by the fire. In fact, Jesus himself came to Earth to save us "by the fire" when he died for our sins on the cross. Have you accepted his free gift of salvation? Do you know where you will spend eternity when you die?

Happy Birthday!!!!!

Today is Bobbi's birthday. She is nine. Wednesday was Tyler's. He is six. Time sure does fly. So last night we had a small family supper and opened presents. They were so suprised when Granny gave each of them a Nintendo DS. Neither one has put it down since. (That will stop in a week or two. There has to be limits.)

They each gave the other a gift and then we had them hide their eyes so we could bring out their gifts from us (Mom & Dad). Granny manned the camera.

They were in total shock.

We had to go try them out right away.

Tyler still needs a bit of practice on his. It is an 18 inch and he is about a 17 inch. However, when he feels comfortable on it he will be able to keep up with the rest of us when we go on bike rides.

Now, I know what you are thinking, especially if you have read my other posts or know my family. You are wondering what we were thinking buying a STUNT bike(see the pegs on the wheels) for a girl with a broken arm. Did I mention it was her 3rd broken arm(same arm). She can't even ride it for at least 4 more weeks. Poor thing. She doesn't seem unhappy about it does she? Naw. Mom rode it for her. LOL!!! Plus all of her broken arms have been from her falling down. Just simply falling wrong, so why not have fun doing it. Maybe, (hopefully) this will be her last broken arm. They will have a friend party next weekend.
